Venezuela: keeping Cuba on a list of terrorism sponsors is shameless
especiales
Cesar Gomez, of the Youth Coordination of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network of Solidarity with Cuba, affirmed that it is shameless to include Cuba in the list created by Washington of States sponsoring terrorism.
“One’s soul burns when one sees the erroneous political reports by the United States assuring that (Cuba) does not fully cooperate with them in the fight against terrorism,” Gomez said in an interview with Prensa Latina, and stressed that keeping Cuba on the list is “a total impudence”, especially when the accusation comes from a state that has murdered millions, executes plans and sponsors terrorist actions worldwide.
Those acts generate destabilizing actions against countries “that do not accept to kneel and that, without a doubt, are free and sovereign. (…) It is well-known that this list is part of the incessant economic, commercial and financial war (…) which seeks to create a fictitious legal framework to impose inhumane sanctions, in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law, which are applied against peoples to kill them with hunger and disease”, as demonstrated during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the United States refused to sell artificial respirators and other life-saving supplies to both Cuba and Venezuela, and tried to prevent third parties from doing so.
“The imperialism at its best, both yesterday and today, seeks to subjugate us, bend us and make us give in to its dictates in everything, divide us, turn us against each other, make us believe that we are not equal, make us expose our differences and completely eliminate the ties that unite us,” said Gomez, who went on to remark that “our place in history and the duty of true integration of our peoples is a reality, and that is how they operate.”
The youth leader pointed out that “the best way to respond to the intensification of the US blockade against our peoples is with more strength, with the work of our father Liberator, Simón Bolívar, with the true integration of the peoples.”
Regarding the solidarity of Venezuela with Cuba and vice versa, Gomez said that speaking about them is to speak of struggles, battles, and victories, but, above all, “it is speaking about concrete actions of love.”
Gomez sent a message to the Cuban people on behalf of the Venezuelan youth: “Rest assured that we will continue supporting the just causes of humanity, to defend Cuba is to defend Venezuela and vice versa”, as is also the case for the peoples who did not accept and will not accept kneeling.
“The world is writing its own path, its ideas, changes, emancipation, the value of life, equality”, because “the battle is that of socialism as a guarantee of the Great Homeland (…) without a doubt we are on the right side of history, good versus evil, love versus hate, revolution versus imperialism.”
