Informática 2024 deals with cybersecurity

The 19th International Convention, Informática 2024, focuses Thursday on cybersecurity, given the importance of all mechanisms and technologies used to protect a computer infrastructure.

Today’s event includes the keynote speech “Cybersecurity, a challenge of our times” by Cuban Deputy Communications Minister Ernesto Rodriguez and the working sessions of the 16th Ibero-American Seminar on Security in Information Technologies.

Debates on geomatics, computer science, informatics, electronics development, automation and robotics, applications, advanced techniques, and current challenges complete the Convention’s agenda.

The 8th International Symposium Informatics from the Community, Local Development, and Social Networks; the workshop dedicated to the software industry, its trends, and best practices; and the congress on e-commerce and digital content are other events of interest.

On Wednesday, participants at Informática 2024 focused the gahtering on Artificial Intelligence (AI), its use, and main results, an issue discussed by Yailé Caballero, Director of International Relations at the University of Camagüey, who stated that this tool is still a challenge for Cuba.

Informática 2024 and its fair, in the presence of more than 1,000 delegates and exhibitors from 16 countries, will conclude on Friday, March 22, with a presentation on how to use information and communication technologies in the transition towards a digital society with the necessary learning of citizens to take advantage of its benefits.
