Cuba’s national baseball team will compete in Venezuela during the preliminary round of the 2025 Baseball Copa América, organizers confirmed at a press conference in Caracas.

The qualifying group scheduled from November 13 to 22 will also feature teams from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Curaçao, and the host nation.

The other group will play at Mariano Rivera Park in Panama, where the field will include the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

According to tournament officials, the top three teams from each group at the conclusion of the regular stage will advance to the Super Round, which will be held in Panama City.

In Venezuela, confirmed on Tuesday as a co-host of the continental event, games will take place at the Monumental Simón Bolívar Stadium in Caracas and the Jorge Luis García Carneiro Stadium in La Guaira.

During the press briefing, organizers announced that no roster may include active players listed on a Major League Baseball 40-man roster, although minor league players will be eligible.

In addition to awarding points for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) rankings, the Copa América will allocate four berths for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo and five for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima.
