Cuba and Rwanda ratified their will to strengthen ties in the field of health care with the signing of a memorandum of understanding by the Ministers of both countries, namely José Ángel Portal and Sabin Nsanzimana, respectively.

Following the ceremony, the Cuban official assured that Rwanda can always count on the island’s assistance to help improve its people’s quality of life and stressed that this agreement paves the way for future joint cooperation programs in the areas of human resources training, improvement of health care systems, teaching, and research.

On his end, Mr. Nsanzimana praised the Cuban health system and described relations in this sector as fruitful.

In November 2023, a delegation headed by Cuban VP Salvador Valdés Mesa visited Rwanda with a view to increasing relations between both nations.
