HUA XIN, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cuba, reaffirmed today in Havana that his country will always stand with Cuba and condemned the six-decade-long U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the island nation.

"China will continue to categorically oppose the intensification of U.S. sanctions against Cuba," stated the ambassador during an official ceremony marking the 98th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). He highlighted the PLA's historic contributions to China's liberation and its enduring role in safeguarding national sovereignty.

The event was attended by high-ranking Cuban officials, including Army Corps General Álvaro López Miera, Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), and General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, Minister of the Interior (MININT). Ambassador Hua Xin also extended congratulations to Cuba on the recent anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Barracks, celebrated as National Rebellion Day.

In the presence of officials from Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and senior military representatives, the ambassador emphasized the deep historical ties between the two nations, rooted in their shared struggle for justice. He noted that Cuba was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with China 65 years ago.

The ambassador criticized hegemonic global policies and stressed the importance of upholding international justice and preserving historical memory.

The ceremony also honored Colonel Luo Tiefeng, Defense Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Cuba, who concluded his diplomatic mission. Colonel Luo expressed gratitude to Cuban authorities for their hospitality and praised the strong, cooperative relationship between the militaries of both countries.

The gathering underscored the enduring solidarity between China and Cuba amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.
