Cuba is betting for all economic stakeholders to participate in developing software and transforming society towards greater digitalization, Communications Minister Mayra Arevich said.

In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina in the context of the International Fair, Informática 2024, the minister highlighted the presence of some 15 small and medium-sized Cuban enterprises that will present their advances in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector.

“The software industry in our country must be developed with the participation of all economic stakeholders. This will allow greater participation in advancing ICTs and the talent of young computer scientists trained by the Revolution. In this way, professionals from all sectors will contribute to the country’s digital transformation,” Arevich affirmed.

She also pointed out that the presence of foreign companies and delegates at the 19th edition of the International Convention and Fair, Informática 2024, until March 22, will allow Cuba to form alliances, reach agreements, and exchange knowledge.

The minister affirmed that this event is an example of how promoting ICTs is currently a pillar of government management in Cuba and penetrates every sector of society.

She highlighted the presence of more than 60 Cuban enterprises and some 15 from other countries at the Fair that is being held at Havana Pabexpo’s fair center, showcasing their IT solutions in 49 stands.
