Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, denounced on social media today the crimes committed by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) against the Caribbean nation.

Writing on his official Facebook profile, the official noted that the history of these actions is thoroughly documented within U.S. government archives and federal congressional investigations.

During the 1970s, the Church Committee unveiled assassination plots, economic and technological sabotage, the infiltration of armed groups, and ties to organized crime, among other illicit acts.

Fernández de Cossío pointed out that such practices also encompassed bacteriological warfare alongside defamation and disinformation campaigns targeting Cuba, which persisted in subsequent years.

"Committing crimes against Cuba and its people with a leading role played by the CIA has been and remains the official policy of the United States government," he wrote on his digital profile.

The deputy minister added that recent articles published by outlets such as Politico and The New York Times confirm the ongoing reality of this hostile policy.

The reports by Politico and The New York Times confirmed that the CIA maintains active operations directed against Cuba by reinforcing intelligence assets and creating a dedicated task force aimed at pressing for political change on the island.

Both investigative pieces highlight the continuity of Washington's hostile posture toward the Caribbean country, combining espionage, covert actions, and "disinformation campaigns."
