Students of the state-owned university, who will carry out a demonstration next Wednesday expecting the participation of the various elements of the university community, said that they must keep their heads high after making all efforts, and also that they will go for more in this fight.

The college students, who carried out a strike joined by the four student assemblies, including the National Student Assembly, said that this was the ideal way to start a struggle that will continue.

'The strike carried out in defense of the university for the past months fills us with pride', they said, while stating that the cuts to the budget of the UPR will be higher than planned for next fiscal year, which begins on July 1st.

They said that austerity measures regarding the public university, instructed by the federal board of trustees to incumbent management, started at $149 million USD and will be $202 million USD from July 1st.
