New Airline to Connect Southern China with Mexico

China Southern Airlines announced today the opening of a route between the southern city of Guangzhou and Mexico City.

According to the airline's management, the flights will begin operating on April 10, connecting the two metropolis via Vancouver and code CZ377 / 378 every Monday, Thursday and Saturday from Guangzhou, capital of China's southern province of Guangdong, and will return from Mexico City on the following days.

This will be the first route to Mexico operated by a Chinese airline and according to officials of the sector; the commissioning of the new line shows the increase in exchanges between the two countries and responds to the growing number of Chinese tourists interested to know the landscapes and civilizations of Latin America.

Official figures show that China is Mexico's second largest economic partner and the third destination of Mexican exports, only behind the United States and Canada.

Similarly, data from China's Ministry of Commerce indicate that trade exchanges between China and Mexico totaled US $ 62.6 billion during the first 10 months of 2016.

On the other hand, figures of Mexican governmental entities refer that more than 100,000 Chinese tourists traveled to the Latin American nation the previous year, for an annual increase of more than 25 percent.
