"It's an area where you have to expect the unexpected, but until now we've had no alert or sign that a terrorist entity is focusing on Brazil."

He added that the absence of "ethnic, religious and border conflicts" meant Brazil was less likely to be targeted by terrorists.

Defence minister Raul Jungmann said Brazil's intelligence agencies were working alongside counterparts from 60 countries.

Like the United States, England, France, Israel and Russia.

"Our intelligence organs have a contract with several countries. There hasn't been any threat on our radar," Jungmann said. Last May 10,Military Attaches from more than 20 countries attended the first day of training drills against yterrorists attacks done as part of the preparations for the games.

The Minister said that the anti terror drills carried out at Goiania, showed in practice the way in which the security agencies will deal in a united manner against any terroristst action.

Security at the games will be given by 38 thousand persons from diffrent agencies.
