Cuban Grand Master Leinier Domínguez is eleventh and leader of the chess players in Latin America, according to the world rankings released today by the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

Dominguez has two thousand 760 ELO points and is followed by the also Cuban Lazaro Bruzon, who improved seat and is now 52nd on the planet.

The other Latin American in the hundred avant-garde is the Peruvian Grand Master Julio Granda, 69th, because the Venezuelan Eduardo Iturrizaga fell 97 to 101.

Leading the ranking is Norwegian Magnus Carlsen with two thousand 877 points, followed by Armenian Levon Aronian (two thousand 809) and Russian Alexander Grischuk (two thousand 795).

Russian Sergei Karjakin, 24 and winner of the Norwegian Stavanger Tournament, where he finished first ahead of Carlsen, improved from ninth to sixth place and adds two thousand 786 units.

By contrast, Indian former world champion Viswanathan Anand dropped from fifth to seventh place, now two thousand 785 stripes.
