Cuban baseball player Frederich Cepeda became player 24 - the same number in his uniform - to reach the mythical figure of two thousand hits in Cuba's National Baseball Championship (SNB).

Second at the First World Baseball Classic in 2006, Cepeda achieved the feat in the fifth inning of the game between his team and Cienfuegos, at the September 5 stadium.

In his twenty-second championship, Cepeda crowned himself as fourth in this group.

The 59th Championship looks historic for Frederich, Olympic, World and Pan-American champion, as well as an absolute leader in national classics.

Cepeda, who also has experience in Mexico and Japan Baseball leagues, proves to be in optimal conditions to integrate the Cuba team to the Premier 12 tournament, scheduled from November 2 to 17, heading to Tokyo 2020.

A few months ago, Cepeda, considered one of the best Cuban baseball players of the 21st century, was out of the Cuban payroll that attended the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, where the selection directed by Rey Vicente Anglada performance badly, concluding sixth.
