When stars collide, they can either form a larger star, a black hole... or a lightning bolt.

That lightning bolt may be embellishing things a little, but Usain Bolt and Diego Maradona shared the sprinter's iconic pose when the two sporting legends ran into each other ahead of the Hublot Match of Friendship.

The five-a-side match, which marks Fifa's official countdown to the 2018 World Cup, saw the 1986 World Cup winner meet up with the Olympic gold medallist as Puma ambassadors.

Maradona was in a jovial mood, sharing a hug with Bolt before the pair pulled out Bolt's trademark pose for the cameras.

Maradona was up against Jose Mourino with the Argentina icon set to test his coaching skills against the Manchester United manager for the match in Basel, Switzerland.

Jamaican sprinting legend Bolt has been keen on a switch to professional football since retiring from athletics, and as a keen United fan, would no doubt have wasted the opportunity to have another word with Mourinho about a possible Old Trafford switch.

Mourinho was in charge of a team featuring legends such as Christian Karembeu and Marcel Desailly, while Maradona will be coaching Roberto Carlos, David Trezeguet and Hernan Crespo.
