Cuban Haydee Milanes to Sing in Colombia

Performances will take place at the Evening Cultural Park of the Colombian city during the 58th Flower Festival, which she will attend for the first time and as star of the evening.

For the concert, Milanes has planned a compilation of some of the highlights of her artistic career, as well as pieces included in her latest album Palabras, with songs by Marta Valdes, a CD that was a winner of the Cubadisco 2015 Award.

The concert will also include pieces by Descemer Bueno, a few son rhythms by Pablo Milanes, such as Canciòn and Ya se va aquella edad, in addition to the emblematic La gloria eres tu, by Jose Antonio Mendez, comments Haydee on her website.

Accompanying instrumentalists will be Cuban maestros Jorge Reyes, Enrique Pla and Raul Verdecia, on acoustic bass, drums and guitar, respectively.

The Flower Fair is a traditional, mass event held for 10 days every year in the Colombian city of Medellin, during which participants enjoy a carnival atmosphere.
