Acting President of Venezuela Receives US Diplomat

Delcy Rodríguez Holds Meeting with US Chargé d'Affaires in Caracas
Acting President Delcy Rodríguez met today in Caracas with the US Chargé d'Affaires for the Venezuela Affairs Unit, Laura Dogu.

The Minister for Communication and Information, Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela, reported via Telegram that the meeting took place at the Miraflores Palace, the seat of government.

He explained that the meeting was held "within the framework of the working agenda between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the United States of America."

Rodríguez was accompanied by the President of the National Assembly (Parliament) Jorge Rodríguez, Foreign Minister Yván Gil, and Venezuelan diplomat Félix Plasencia, the Presidency detailed.

The US diplomat arrived in Venezuela last Saturday. Her arrival is part of the working agenda between the two governments and aimed at "setting a work roadmap on matters of bilateral interest," Gil stated at the time.

Furthermore, it is intended to "address and resolve existing differences through diplomatic dialogue and on the basis of mutual respect and International Law," he noted.

On social media, Dogu wrote: "I just arrived in Venezuela. My team and I are ready to work."
