Extraordinary Plenary Session of the PCC Held in Villa Clara

Díaz-Canel and Morales Ojeda Lead Extraordinary Provincial Party Plenary in Villa Clara
Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, and Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, presided today in Santa Clara over the Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Provincial Party Committee in Villa Clara.

Aligning Party Membership with National Priorities for a Complex Year
The meeting, part of a round of analyses with territorial party leaderships following the celebration of the XI Plenum of the Central Committee in December, aimed to align the entire membership with the country's priorities from the start of 2026—a period described as complex due to the national economic situation, aggravated by the aggressive policy of the United States government, as highlighted by the Presidency on X.

During the session, the Party leadership in Villa Clara presented its strategy for confronting the challenges of the current year. President Díaz-Canel assessed the presentation as "a good planning exercise."

Focus on Food Production, Exports, and Municipal Autonomy
The territory's main officials presented concrete proposals aimed at increasing food production, developing new exportable items and improving existing ones, fostering municipal autonomy, and changing management methods to achieve greater economic efficiency.

The President emphasized the importance of not letting the concepts and guidelines emanating from the XI Plenum of the Central Committee fade, which is the fundamental reason for holding these extraordinary provincial plenaries. The purpose is to ensure that the entire party organization in the territory is focused and mobilized around the strategic tasks defined for the nation.

Previously, Díaz-Canel and Morales Ojeda held a similar meeting with the Party leadership in Sancti Spíritus province, as part of the same process of coordinating and checking local strategies for implementing the agreements of the highest party leadership body between Congress sessions.
