Pop star Taylor Swift has donated one million dollars to the NGO Feeding America, the leading network fighting hunger in the United States.
"This holiday season, her continued support is a powerful reminder of what is possible when we come together to eradicate hunger," stated the organization's CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, in a press release on Tuesday.
Feeding America expressed gratitude for Swift's contribution, calling it a display of unity to "ensure families have a full table this Christmas and in the future," the release added.
The pop star has made several donations to the non-profit organization in the past, including a major donation in October of last year to aid victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which devastated parts of the southeastern United States.
Swift's contribution helped communities affected by these disasters recover by providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to those impacted by the devastating storms.
The latest report from Feeding America, the nation's largest network of food banks, estimates that food insecurity has risen to affect 47 million people across the country, 14 million of whom are Latino.
