Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today proposed, at the National Assembly of People's Power, to designate 2026 as the Year of the Centennial of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
The proposal, approved unanimously, constitutes a tribute to the leader and a ratification of the unity of his ideas within the Cuban Revolution.
“It would not have been possible to get this far without trusting in our history, and without the strong and clear conviction that emerged from that meeting between the two brothers on December 18, 1956, in Cinco Palmas. Today we are also certain that Now we will win the war!” expressed Díaz-Canel.
“We Cubans today are victors over the impossible, and may the year 2026, the Year of the Centennial of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, find us fighting and more united than ever,” he concluded.
