Cuba Accuses U.S. of Threatening Peace and Sovereignty in Latin America

The U.S. military presence in the Caribbean Sea represents a serious threat to regional peace, stability, and security, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced today before the diplomatic corps and the press.

During the presentation of the annual report on the impact of the U.S. blockade on the Cuban people, the minister also argued that the military deployment constitutes a show of force that undermines the sovereignty and self-determination of Latin American and Caribbean nations.

Following the meeting, held at the El Laguito protocol hall, Rodríguez wrote on X: “The current deployment of U.S. military forces in the Caribbean Sea represents a grave threat to regional peace, stability, and security, and an aggressive show of force that undermines the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.”

Around midday, the foreign minister presented a report detailing the most recent damages suffered by the Caribbean island between March 1 of last year and February 28 of this year.
