Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro conveyed his condolences to the family, friends, and comrades of Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas, who passed away today in Havana at the age of 88.
“From Venezuela, I embrace the brotherly and noble Cuban people over the sorrowful physical departure of my friend, Ricardo Cabrisas,” the president wrote on his Telegram account.
Maduro highlighted the “friendship of many years” with Cabrisas, who also served as Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment.
He stressed that Cabrisas was “without a doubt, a great companion in the struggle for the unity of the peoples, a revolutionary, a fighter, and an extraordinary human being.”
“To his family, friends, and comrades, my condolences. Until victory always, Ricardo!” Maduro underscored.
On X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez described Tuesday’s news as “a very sad day for Cuba,” calling Cabrisas “a beloved comrade, an exemplary man who dedicated his entire life to the Revolution.”
