Cuba today condemned Israel’s plans to expand settlements in Palestinian territories in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, describing the attempt by the Zionist regime to obstruct the creation of an independent Palestinian state as “desperate.”
“We denounce current plans to expand Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The Israeli regime seeks to redraw the geography of #Palestine in a desperate attempt to obstruct the creation of an independent Palestinian state,” stated Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.
The government of Benjamin Netanyahu recently announced a settlement project in the occupied West Bank that would divide the territory in two, undermining efforts by parts of the international community to establish a future Palestinian state.
