Rumba, jazz, and son will merge like a musical cocktail to welcome the fifth Varadero Josone Festival from August 25 to 31 in the famous Cuban resort town, the event’s Organizing Committee announced today.
Top-tier artists and ensembles from Cuba, as well as from countries such as Colombia, Spain, and Argentina, will gather at Josone Park to delight audiences each night with outstanding performances for lovers of good music.
Under the slogan "Mira como vengo!", the program will feature more than 30 concerts, DJ sets, and a fusion of diverse genres on stage, revealed Issac Delgado, founder and president of the festival.
From the national roster, performances are expected from Moncada, Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, Issac Delgado, Alexander Abreu and Havana D’Primera, Cándido Fabré, Los Van Van, Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor, Alain Pérez, Roberto Fonseca, Haila María Mompié, Raúl Paz, David Torrens, and David Blanco, among many others.
The international lineup will include, among others, the group Manyoma Brothers from Colombia, Rodrigo Sosa “La Quenística” from Argentina, and Big Lois from Spain, a leading figure in urban flamenco.
Tickets are already available for both domestic and international audiences at Casa de la Música Habana, Casa de la Música Miramar, and the Paradiso Agency. They can also be purchased through the La Papeleta app.
The Varadero Josone Festival pays tribute to the most outstanding expressions of Cuban musical identity, adapted to contemporary times without compromising the quality and artistic rigor the public deserves.
The event is organized by the National Center for Popular Music, the Cuban Institute of Music, and the Música Punto Cero project, with the support of the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, and the Provincial Directorate of Culture of Matanzas.
