Cuban Parliament Thanks Medicuba Spain Brigade for Solidarity

Homero Acosta Álvarez, Secretary of Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power, expressed gratitude on Monday to members of the Medicuba Spain Brigade for their ongoing solidarity and support for the Cuban people.

According to the Parliament’s statement on social media platform X, Acosta Álvarez received representatives of the group at the National Capitol, where he briefed them on the work of the Cuban legislature and the country’s mechanisms for democratic participation.

“Secretary of the @AsambleaCuba @HomeroAcostaA welcomed members of the Medicuba #Spain Brigade at the National Capitol during their visit to our country. Deputy @anbcuba also took part in the meeting,” the post read.

The Medicuba Spain Brigade arrived on the island on July 22 through Santiago de Cuba province to carry out repair and painting work in educational centers in the eastern province.

The group transported 66 packages containing medical, school, and sports supplies in addition to their personal luggage. The donations were provided by organizations and individuals in Spain in solidarity with Cuba.

Recognized as Distinguished Visitors by the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power of Santiago de Cuba, Medicuba Spain has spent the past decade delivering donations from the Spanish people to the Cuban people.
