Cuba recalls assaults on Moncada, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barracks

Havana, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) The El Elogio Oportuno meeting, being held at the Fayad Jamis bookstore in Cuba´s capital, will be dedicated on Thursday to recall the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

For such a reason, a meeting will be held to pay tribute to both actions led by Fidel Castro on July 26, 1953.

El elogio oportuno is usually conducted by journalist and critic Fernando Rodriguez.

On this occasion, journalists Daily Sanchez, deputy director of the Office of Historical Affairs, and Katiuska Blanco, head of the Biographical Department and Complete Works of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, will also attend the event.

Attendees will be able to purchase books related to the history of the Cuban Revolution, including Fidel and Biography by Katiuska Blanco.

This meeting is intended to pay tribute to writers, books, historical events and institutions that reach their anniversaries.
