Cuba to reiterate denunciation against US blockade on May Day

Cuba will denounce the cruel and criminal blockade imposed by the United States on International Workers' Day, President Miguel Díaz-Canel wrote on Twitter Friday.

The head of State reiterated on social media that the celebration would be held in the country’s several squares.

Cuban Workers Federation (CTC)’s General Secretary Ulises Guilarte recently announced changes to the traditional May Day celebrations due to the difficult situation the country is going through, especially in fuel supplies.

Havana will move the workers’ parade from the Revolution Square to Malecon seafront, a place that has been the scene of leading mobilizations of the Cuban people in defense of their right to sovereignty and self-determination.

Small parades or mass events will be held in the country’s other provinces.

The International Workers’ Day mobilization will be simultaneously celebrated on social media with a tweet under the hashtags #Alapatriamanosycorazón and #1Mayo.
