
Camagüey, Cuba, Feb 8 (Prensa Latina) The largest region of the country has 35 candidates for deputies to the National Assembly, and within the group stands out the double Olympic champion in boxing, Julio César La Cruz, representative of Cuba's sports movement.

‘Very happy to have been nominated candidate for deputy, and I think the role from our perspective in sport, which is the field for us, is to support the people as much as possible,’ the boxer said via Whatsapp.
Aware of the current situation of the country, and everything that is demanded from the governmental entities, precisely from the People’s Power, the five-time world titleholder, and who was born 33 years ago in the municipality of Camagüey, certified that: ‘We have to be grateful because the people elected us, and have given us that opportunity, and we have the duty to be their representatives’.
On how he will be able to respond to that responsibility if he finally gets to the Parliament, the boxer of the national squad said: ‘Although we have that sporting commitment, it is now our mission so that the situation of all Cubans improves. This is the premise of the moment’, he said. ‘I came from the people, from the most humble class, people who today have given us this opportunity to represent them, and raise their problems at the highest level’, he concluded not before leaving a message of encouragement and satisfaction.
