La Paz, Nov 10 (Prensa Latina) The technical roundtable on the Population and Housing Census in Bolivia concluded with the proposal to bring the date of that exercise forward by one month, in March and April 2024.
Minister of Development Planning Sergio Cusicanqui told a press conference that the recommendations were sent to the Government so that it can set the date of the census, in accordance with its constitutional competencies.
Earlier, the technical delegates from the Gabriel Rene Moreno Autonomous University, the Governorate of Santa Cruz and the municipalities of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, La Paz and Tarija left the meeting, while 36 technical representations continued the work.
The dissidents could not technically demonstrate how to bring forward the deadlines to hold the census in 2023, it was reported.
The minister recalled that the Technical Table was subdivided into subcommittees on statistical cartographic updating, census ballot and scanning, and training.
He pointed out that all three suggested bringing forward deadlines, and then in a comprehensive manner the period was agreed upon.
