Gustavo Petro, the presidential candidate for Colombia´s alternative and leftist forces, united in the Historical Pact, won the country´s presidential elections.

According to data from the National Electoral Registry, Petro and Francia Márquez will rule Colombia following an electoral victory described as historic in a country governed for over 200 years by the Right.

With 89.35%, Petro reached 10,750,836 votes for 50.88% of valid votes, while Hernández reached 46.85%.
