The Palestinian Government condemned today the US decision to oppose any criticism against Israel in the UN Human Rights Council.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced in a communiqué the statements in that sense made by the spokesperson of the US State Department, Ned Price.
The Foreign Ministry expressed surprise at Washington's position despite the systematic aggressions committed by Tel Aviv.
The Council was compelled to adopt a special item on its agenda to analyze the constant violations of human rights in the occupied territories, diplomats noted in the text. They recalled that 'the main US ally' is a State that practices apartheid.
We hope that the Biden administration will honor its commitments and not exclude Israel from condemnation because of its long criminal record, the ministry's authorities underscored.
Likewise, the Ministry urged to keep a permanent item in the Human Rights Council on the actions committed by the Jewish State in the Palestinian territories.
