Cuba's Frank Pais International Airport to restart operations
Holguin, Cuba, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) With the restart of operations at the Frank Pais International Airport on November 3, the interest of airlines is currently growing to resume the itineraries to this important tourist Holguin destination in eastern Cuba.
The director of this terminal, Miguel A. Peña, explained that two flights of the Air Transat airline are scheduled to arrive on that date, one from Toronto and another from Montreal, Canada, in order to stop the forced pause of that facility due to Covid-19.
Peña added that as of November the reestablishment of operations will be gradual, since an average of 65 weekly flights arrived at Frank Pais airport at the beginning of the year, with almost 2,000 daily passengers.
Canada remains as the main issuer of the destination, so other airlines will gradually be incorporated for the current winter season, including Air Canada, and later, WestJet and Sunwing.
Regarding the European market, Peña noted that the Neos company, from Italy, announced the first trip for the end of November, while the German Condor unfolded a weekly frequency from December 20.
To meet the demand in the American continent, Mexico's Viva Aerobus airline will start with direct flights twice a week from Cancun, which also arrives at the Juan Gualberto Gomez airport, in the western Cuban province of Matanzas.
