The Cuban Communist Party´s School System, which will celebrate its 55th anniversary on December 2nd, constitutes strength in the ideological political formation of the organization´s members and reserves.

There are municipal and provincial schools in each one of the territories in which hundreds of men and woman take courses through classes given by academics from different centers and universities.

History

When the Cuban Communist Party was founded in 1925 one of the main concerns of its leaders was the preparation of future revolutionary political leaders.

Laterthe Abel Santamaria ideological academy was created in the former prison in the Isle of Pines where a young group was serving prison terms after the attack against the Moncada Military Garrison in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.

At the end of the 1950´s the July 26th Movement in the Sierra Maestra Mountains continued the same guidelines aimed at maintaining continued political-ideological preparation.

In December 2nd, 1960, the Ñino Lopez National School of the Cuban Communist Party was created including the Revolutionary National System of Education. Later the Revolutionary Basic Education Schools with a massive character was founded.

Centers where Theory and Practice are combined

The Party schools are centers where theory and practice are combined and where tools and skills are given to confront work in the different positions as leadership reserves.

Study programs with several courses like the EnfoqueBasico (Basic Focus) where managerial skills are offered to representative of political and grass roots organization offered by professors with a high level of training like Masters and Doctorates of Social Sciences.

Currently the preparation of political and administrative reserves has knowledge in the study of the implementation of the Economic and Social Policy of the Cuban Communist Party guidelines and the objectives of the First Conference.

The Party School System contributes to the comprehension of the new social economic processes underway in Cuba.

The centers also reinforces the knowledge of history, globalization and neoliberalism and to strengthen national identity and roots to the younger generation.
