Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro praises Fidel Castro’s legacy

Caracas, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Thursday praised the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), on the fifth anniversary of his death.

“A transcendental and unwavering hero who knew how to lead the Cuban people amid hardships to defend everyone’s dignity and sovereignty. From Venezuela, our everlasting love, Fidel,” the president tweeted.

Moreover, in a statement by the Foreign Ministry, the Venezuelan government highlighted the full current force of Fidel Castro’s thought and work that, “together with Commander Hugo Chavez’s legacy, continues to show us the path and leading our peoples in the battles they wage in defense of their dignity, sovereignty and independence.”

The Bolivarian government also sent fraternal regards to Army General Raul Castro and other relatives, as well as to President Miguel Diaz-Canel and the Cuban people.

The government also expressed its determination to strengthen fraternal ties and cooperation between the two nations.
