Caracas, Apr 4 (Prensa Latina) The Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb) remains today on maximum alert on the Colombian-Venezuelan border, where armed clashes have taken place in the past days.

After recent combats between the FANB and Colombian paramilitary groups, the military command reported that it maintains control of the towns of La Victoria and El Ripial, main scenarios of the hostilities.

'The armed groups, who with their pretension to generate terror to the people, cowardly flee from Venezuelan justice, will not go far, we will capture them all!', states a message from the Strategic Command on the social network Twitter.

The day before, at least 30 social organizations in Venezuela denounced the actions of these forces that threaten the peace and tranquility of its inhabitants.

In an official communiqué they said: 'we express our concern for the actions undertaken by armed groups (...) that have threatened and violated the human rights of its inhabitants (...) Actions that also resulted in the death of members of the FANB'.

The document refers that the situation is worsened by the refusal of the Colombian Executive Power to comply with the peace agreements reached with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.

'The events of the last few days entail a radicalization of the actions of the armed groups living in border areas of that country, moving on to the occupation of Venezuelan territory for criminal purposes and exercising violence against the civilian population, as they have historically done', the text points out.
