The plan of the West to place Kazakhstan under NATO's umbrella failed as a result of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) deploying peacekeeping forces, according to a report by www.indianpunchline.com published on Sunday.

The report pointed out that Kazakhstan has been a member of the NATO Partnership for Peace since 1994. It was the only Central Asian country that sent a military contingent to fight in the War in Afghanistan under the NATO flag. Kazakhstan was being prepared as a potential NATO member, such as Ukraine and Georgia. All that seems a chimera now.

Indianpunchline addressed a statement by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday, which hints that the West was taken aback by the aid request made by Kazakhstan’s President Kasim-Jomard Tokaev to CSTO member countries (Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) to break up the riots organized from abroad.

To US secretary of State, it is not clear why they (Kazakhs) feel the need of foreign aid, so they are trying to know more about it.

According to Indianpunchline, Blinken said with indignation that Washington is expecting a solution for this crisis that respects rights, includes protection to the rights of any peaceful demonstrator, something this website believes to be part of the script of the so-called soft coups sponsored by the United States.

Evidently, the dramatic events, that is, the protests that broke out on Jan.2 and that prompted the CSTO to deploy troops three days after, completely took Washington aback.

The Biden administration was in a triumphalist mood due to the Kremlin ambush in Ukraine and what it least expected was Russia’s deployment in such a critical situation in Kazakhstan. Restlessness mixed with confusion and rage in Blinken’s tone of voice is evident, the website reported.
