The US Jose Marti Cultural Association handed a donation to two hospitals in western Pinar del Rio Province to support medical services in that western Cuban province.

The shipment includes medical equipment and resources that will contribute to the assistance of patients at the Abel Santamaria Cuadrado general hospital and the Pepe Portilla pediatric hospital.

The donation helps cushion the impact of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against the island, which is aimed at toppling the Cuban Revolution and make the people suffer, Association member Damian Diaz told the Cuban News Agency.

Blood pressure gauges, thermometers and other items are part of the donation brought in by the supportive group. Association coordinator, Percy Francisco Alvardo said that this is the second time they visit Pinar del Rio, so they wanted to give the local people their support with a modest donation to help the great battle of preserving health.
