Uruguay with 5 historical players and 16 debutants to Qatar-2022

Havana, November 11 (PL)-- A dream fulfilled, proud, wonderful, are some of the reactions this Friday among the 16 debutants in the Uruguayan national team that leaves in hours for Abu Dhabi, prior to the World Cup in Qatar.

With 10 days to go before the start of the competition and 14 days before the debut against South Korea, the list of the Uruguayan team, a mix of veterans and young blood joined by the traditional "charrúa" spirit, is now official.

The roster confirmation marks a record of Luis Suárez, Diego Godín, Edinson Cavani, Fernando Muslera and Martín Cáceres, with four World Cups in their careers.

The five Celeste historic players played in the World Cups of South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018, and will now play in Qatar 2022. In addition, all five were champions of the 2011 Copa América.

One of the stars of the team is midfielder Federico Valverde (Real Madrid).
