University of Medical Sciences graduates 905 new professionals

In a ceremony presided by José Angel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, 905 graduates received their diplomas from various schools of Havana’s University of Medical Sciences.
Sixteen students were awarded with the Scientific Merit distinction, whereas another eight were declared best graduates in the areas of Sports, History, Culture, Student Assistantship, Research, Teaching and Social Impact, and Best Overall Student.
Rector Mairim Lago Queija expressed her joy over the graduation of 905 students, including four from other countries, which reaffirms the school’s commitment to the formation its students as health professionals and continuators of the Revolution.
She remarked that all the graduates had excellent results during their studies on Teaching, Research and University Extension for the benefit of 82 polyclinics in Havana, more than 1,090 family doctor and nurse offices certified for teaching, 34 hospitals, and 11 institutes.
