Damascus, Dec 7 (Prensa Latina) Local activists confirmed that United States forces in Syria stole oil again.

According to the sources, 66 tanker trucks loaded with crude oil extracted from Syrian oil fields by US troops crossed into northern Iraq.

They said the column entered Syria through the al-Mahmoudieh border crossing, often used by US troops to enter and leave Syria.

As on previous occasions, the caravan was escorted by vehicles belonging to the US army and the Syrian Democratic Forces, financed and sponsored by Washington.

The looting occurs while the country is facing an unprecedented energy crisis caused by the acute shortage of petroleum derivatives caused by the US occupation of areas that contain more than 90 percent of the country’s oil deposits.

Syria produced more than 380,000 barrels of crude oil per day before the war, in 2011, but the figure dropped to only 80,000 and of which 64,000 are plundered by the US troops.
