From Santiago de Cuba, where the ashes of Commander in Chief remain, Birán, the land where he was born, the capital city of all Cubans, and several places nationwide, millions of people remember Fidel Castro, historical leader of the Revolution.
On the 98th anniversary of Fidel’s birthday, at the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, in Havana, several tributes to honor him were held. Although it was a very intense day with book launchings, encounters with former combatants, on Tuesday, at 14:00 hrs, an exhibition of graphic humor from Palante and Dedeté publications was opened.
The UNEAC (National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba) Villena Hall launched Fidel Castro, el arte de gobernar, by Yunet López Ricard, with foreword by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Comunión de Ideas. Eusebio Leal un hijo de su tiempo, by writer Albel Enrique González Santamaría.
According to a press report, the initiative, sponsored by the UNEAC’s Social-Historical Literature Department, promoted an approach to two major texts written in recent years, whose pages safeguard forever key times in our country’s history.
At the National Theater and under the name Fidel es Cuba, a cantata was presented by the Mariana de Gonitch Academy of singing and its professional company Las Voces, directed by Professor Hugo Oslé while at the Fayad Jamís bookstore, a book related to the Commander in Chief and the Ibero-American Summits will be presented to the public.
Tuesday night, a concert took place at the Piragua in Havana to celebrate International Youth Day. It was the welcoming celebration for Cuban athletes who participated in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and they waited for August 13 to pay tribute to Fidel.
Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016), historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, is recognized throughout the world for his humanitarian, anti-imperialist and solidarity work. His work transcends and his legacy is an example for generations.
