“A Toda Zarzuela” at the National Theater of Cuba

Havana, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) A toda zarzuela, is the title of the show to be offered in this capital by the National Lyric Theater accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatro de la Habana Alicia Alonso, on June 10 and 11.

According to the cultural site La Papeleta, in the performances set to take place in the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater, the public will be able to enjoy a selection of well-known pieces from the repertoire of the Spanish zarzuela and operetta of the said company.

Among them we can find La verbena de la Paloma, Luisa Fernanda, Los Gavilanes, La Tempranica, El Niño Judío, La Revoltosa, Marina, El Barberillo de Lavapiés and La Corte de Faraón, which will be performed by young soloists together with the chorus of the National Lyric Theater of Cuba.

The performances will celebrate the 61st anniversary of the Great Havana’s Theater Symphony Orchestra, founded on June 7 of 1962 by maestro Félix Guerrero.

On this occasion, the works are under the artistic direction of Alfonso Menéndez, the musical direction of Yhovani Duarte and the choral direction of Denisse Falcón Lay.
