San Juan, May 6 (Prensa Latina) The Puerto Rican and International Theater Festival is currently the trump card of culture in this country as it marks the return to theaters on May 14.

Until June 27, the event will host the staging of the five plays selected by an evaluation committee, which bear the stamp of important figures of the stage and emerging talents, while paying tribute to local playwright Belen Rios, of recognized prestige in the country and Latin America.

Arranged by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the encounter will be held at the Francisco Arrivi and Victoria Espinosa theaters in Santurce, which will be able to receive 30 percent of the total capacity.

Under strict prevention measures to avoid the contagion of SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus, the festival advocates physical distancing, temperature taking, application of sanitizing gel on the public's hands and the use of facemasks at all times.

The opening of the event will be in charge of the play 'Amor al Cubo,' by Spaniards Pilar Camarasa and Alexandra Delgado Martin, produced by the Fondo y Figura company Inc., while the line-up includes 'No se lo digas' por Zoom, 'Asi no era,' 'Las cosas extraordinarias' and 'Historia del Zoo.'
