Danza Contemporánea de Cuba (Cuba’s Contemporary Dance) started a new season at the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater of Cuba, which includes the rerun of one of its most popular staging, Carmina Burana, on the first weekend. This is the great show that under the general direction of Miguel Iglesias, the choreographer George Céspedes staged over a decade ago from Carl Orff’s celebrated score.

On week two, the Cuban company proposes the premiere of El canto del amor triunfante (The Song of the Triumphant Love), a co-production with Ensemble Habana XXI and the musical direction of Cesar Eduardo Ramos.

This is a staging inspired by Ivan S. Turguenev’s homonymous tale, with music and libretto by Paolo Coletta and choreographed by Polish Ewa Wycichowska and Andrzej Adamczak.

It will be an integrating show where dancers, live orchestra and opera singers will converge. The premiere will take place Friday September 23rd.
