The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported today that 44 medical discharges were granted in the last hours, and the number of recovered from Covid -19 amounted to 6,289.

To detect those affected by SARS-CoV-2 virus in the Caribbean country, 8,658 samples were studied, resulting in 48 positive samples, of which 47 are Cubans and one foreigner.

Of the total number of cases, 42 are autochthonous and six are imported.

According to the aforementioned part of the portfolio, 41 people were contacts of confirmed cases, six with a source of infection abroad and until now it is unknown where one of the patients was infected. Of the 48 diagnosed cases, 26 were female and 22 male, and 25 were asymptomatic at the time of the test.

Currently in Cuba 516 people suffer from the disease and 512 have stable clinical evolution, while in intensive care three patients remain in critical condition and one in serious condition.

Of the 48 confirmed cases, 25 belong to the western province of Pinar del Río, Havana (two), Sancti Spíritus (12), Ciego de Ávila (four), Camagüey (three imported) and Guantánamo (two imported).

From March to date, in the largest of the Antilles, 6,935 citizens were diagnosed with Covid-19.
