Moscow, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) The business program of the 25th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (Spief) will begin with Russia's commitment to keep its economy open and expand cooperation as cross-cutting themes of the event.

According to Spief organizers, until June 18 participants and guests will be able to seek new opportunities to strengthen their own economic sovereignty to address global priorities in the face of attempts to eliminate Russia from the international market by a group of hostile Western nations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected on Thursday in the port city, where he is scheduled to attend a meeting with representatives of automotive industry companies and members of the government, Kremlin press officer Dmitry Peskov said.

Business dialogues between countries are a tradition at Spief and, according to the event’s promoters, the one to be held between representatives of Russia and China on the unprecedented challenges facing both countries today and how they plan to develop equal and mutually beneficial cooperation will be very attractive.

The 25th edition of Spief will have as its main theme The New World, New Opportunities, and the key business program is divided into thematic axes focusing on the global and Russian economies, the social and technological agenda and the development of human potential.
