Promotion of MSMEs and environmental finance to be debated in Cuba

Havana, Nov 8 (Prensa Latina) Cuban researchers and experts will meet to share experiences that should contribute to the recovery of the country's economy and environmental policy through the mobilization of different actors, resources and knowledge.

Two workshops will be held on November 8th and 9th at the Hotel Meliá Habana as part of the backup of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), whose main objective is to support these issues in relation to the Cuban economy and adaptation to climate change.

The Technical Workshop tasked with the design of strategies and opportunities to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) aims to exchange Latin American experiences in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

For this, it seeks to define the strategy for the design and transfer of methodologies so as to strengthen MSMEs in Cuba, emphasizing on the generation of added value through the innovative management of goods and services with knowledge associated .

It will also address work on competitive and differentiating production chains, and productive transformation with a focus on environmental sustainability and inclusion.

Another of the objectives of the meeting is to strengthen the technical capacities of institutions and key actors through an inter-institutional platform, as a support to the implementation of environmental policy.

The Ministries of Finance and Prices, Economy and Planning, Science, Technology and Environment, as well as the Central Bank of Cuba, the National Office of Statistics and Information, among others, are participating in both events.
