Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel described as endearing a meeting held on Wednesday with his Argentine counterpart, Alberto Fernandez, one day after the 7th Summit of the Community of Latin American States and Caribbean (Celac).

I reiterated our congratulations for the role played and the progress made at the helm of Celac, the Cuban head of State said in reference to Argentina’s work as the pro tempore head of that bloc in 2022.

We ratify our willingness to strengthen the relations of brotherhood and bilateral ties in areas of common interest, Diaz-Canel added.

For his part, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez tweeted that that the meeting was fruitful and warm.

President Díaz-Canel thanked Fernandez for Argentina’s expressions of solidarity and its constant demand for the end of the United States blockade against Cuba, he pointed out.

The common interest in strengthening economic, trade, investment and cooperation ties was verified, he added.
