Havana, Jul 28 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Diaz-Canel today thanked the messages of solidarity sent to Cuba by his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, and former Bolivian President Evo Morales, on the occasion of the Day of National Rebellion on Cuba.

From his Twitter, the Cuban president sent a hug to both revolutionary leaders, and retweeted the writings dedicated this July 26 to the Cuban people for the anniversary.

Happy #26July Cuba! We join the happiness of the Cuban people, on this glorious day that recalls the dignity, courage and patriotic character of a generation of young revolutionaries who marked a before and after in the history of our America. Long live Fidel, long live Cuba,” Maduro wrote on that social network.

For his part, Evo Morales expressed: We adhere to the Day of Rebellion celebrated in #Cuba in tribute to the courageous Cuban people and the memory of Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos and all the combatants who achieved the liberation of Cuba that gives so many examples to the world.

This July 26 Cuba celebrated the 69th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barracks in Bayamo, commanded by Fidel Castro, which initiated the insurrectional struggle against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1959).
