Warsaw, May 26 (Prensa Latina) The Polish government´s press secretary, Piotr Muller assured that its government signed gas supply contracts enough to supply the country in the coming winter, Polsat TV local channel highlighted.

I can assure you that we are safe from the point of view of gas supply if we talk about winter season, the official stressed, adding that PGNiG Polish energy company signed important contracts, but their content is a commercial secret.

Recently, Piotr Wozniak, Poland´s former Economy Minister and former head of PGNiG considered in an interview with the BiznesAlert.pl portal that the country had little time to buy gas, given the lack of supplies from Russia.

Poland uses around 20 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

On April 27, the Russian company Gazprom announced the suspension of gas supplies to PGNiG for failure to pay in rubles in due time.

Subsequently, the Polish authorities announced the breaking of all intergovernmental agreements with Russia regarding gas supply and transit, thus losing the opportunity to receive up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year through the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
