Havana, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) An online concert invites artists from Peru, Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile, Brazil and Cuba to evoke the Ibero-American Song Encounter Canto de Todos that took place 22 years ago in this capital.

Promoted by Casa de las Americas, the concert is a tribute to the late Cuban troubadour Vicente Feliú, who was one of the promoters of the initiative that materialized in 2000 with the presence of some 82 singers from various parts of the world. Manuel Corona’s Longina was heard in the voices of Vicente Feliú and Augusto Blanca, and Perla Marina was performed by Alberto Faya and his group Siete de Corazones, as well as Lázaro García’s Siempre será el amor and Hasta Siempre Comandante, written by Carlos Puebla.

The event, which lasted four nights, also included the talent of Cubans Marta Campos, Manuel Argudín, Ariel Díaz, Diego Cano, Samuel Águila and Mexicans Pável Núñez and Leni Abreu, Spaniard Pedro Alférez (Spain), Peruvian Kiri Escobar and Argentinean Silvina Tabbusch and many more.

This meeting was a clamor of the singers who are struggling in the midst of searches on the new questions brought about by an uneasy and arguably probable millennium (…) Un Canto de Todos has remained in the hearts of those who participated and intend to continue’, Vicente said.
