The 42nd International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, headquartered in Havana, has over 1,800 films looking forward to participating in the film event, the organizing committee announced on Tuesday on its websites.

At the close of the call, the event's organizers headquartered in Havana explained that over 800 scripts and 200 posters were delivered; meanwhile, the registrations for the works of the Post-Production Contest are open until its deadline, the next September 10.

Consequently, the work team will proceed to select the official sample of the prestigious contest that will take place from December 3 to 13, appropriate to the context of the health emergency imposed by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the Latin American continent and the rest of the globe.

Deemed one of the most relevant events in regional cinematography, the Festival foresees a new edition throughout its history under the slogan 'What the Doctor Prescribed', as a reaffirmation of the value of art and culture in confinement times.

Founded in 1979, the contest has been characterized by making the reality of Latin America and the world visible from the seventh art and, this year; it will maintain its aesthetic precepts through the virtual space where it will connect creators with the public that, annually, fills the movie theaters.
